Atlas Mountains & Ourika Valley Day Trip

Less than an hour from Marrakech, the High Atlas Mountains rise sharply into a different Morocco — snow-tipped peaks, rust-coloured valleys, terraced fields, and Berber villages where life still follows the rhythm of the seasons.

Our most popular day trip combines the Ourika Valley waterfalls (a gentle 1-hour hike to the first cascade, with stops along the river), a slow visit to a Berber village (often including a traditional tea in a family home), and a long lunch in a riverside restaurant. Drivers are licensed and English/French speaking. You can choose a faster trip (return by mid-afternoon) or a full day including additional stops (saffron cooperative, argan oil women's cooperative, panoramic viewpoint). Private 4x4 or comfortable sedan depending on group size.
